Starting out on the scarf for my host dad's birthday!

At the start, I had a hard time thinking of a present to get him but my host mum was telling me how it's still snowing in Japan (even though it's almost the end of Winter there!). So I decided to knit him a scarf. Although the timing is pretty bad, like the scarf will probably reach him at the end of the month..and by then Winter would be over. But yeh, I'm hoping it stays a little cold there so he can use it hahaha!

Another problem I had was that it's my first time knitting and I wanted to learn it from Mum (the pretty floral bag in the photo is my Mum's knitting bag! It's really cool what she has in there ♥). But something cropped up so she's still in Singapore.

It didn't stay a problem for long though, all thanks to YouTube! You can really find/watch/learn almost everything there :D

I didn't publish any posts for the past 2 days because I was doing a surprise video for Rebecca!

(I typed the posts up on those days but saved them as drafts. They are published below this one now!)

I can't be there with Rebecca on her actual birthday, and seeing that this year is an important year for her, I hope I can put a smile on her face by doing a video. So I contacted her closest friends and her sister for them to be a part of this too.

While doing the video, I felt so much love from all her family and friends, and was really really happy that she is surrounded by lovely people like them. Despite their busy schedules (some were even out in the jungles!), they all wanted to make this a memorable birthday for Rebecca too. So,

Uploading onto Vimeo this time!

This time, I faced another problem! The problem with YouTube is that you can't upload videos that are more than 15 minutes with a basic account. When I found out that I could upload videos onto Vimeo (500MB per week), I was so happy! But I realised that my video was in a .wlmp format and Vimeo doesn't convert those files. After Google-ing on ways to convert .wlmp files, I found out that Windows Live Movie Maker does it too!

Under Files, click on Save movie (NOT Save project or Save project as) and click on For computer. It automatically saves the video as a .wmv file, which can then be uploaded onto Vimeo!

Clean desktop

My laptop has been infected with viruses so I'm currently using my brother's laptop to blog while Dad tries to save mine. It took him the whole of today just to get it to start up again...but now, it's gone a little crazy restarting over and over again.

I've always been scanning my laptop with an anti-virus software on a daily basis, and hardly download stuff, so I still have no idea what I did different. I was reading an email (from someone I know, so nothing suspicious there) when my laptop shut itself down. I was denied access to all programs (like Microsoft Office, Firefox, IE, Chrome etc) on my laptop. I couldn't even copy my files to an external hard disk. Dad had to take out the hard disk that's in the laptop, transferred it to some usb reader thing, and inserted it into another laptop to backup my files (hahaha I'm not familiar with the terms!).

I'm just happy nothing's lost, and a fresh start isn't that bad either! :D

Hopefully I'll be able to blog from my laptop tomorrow!

(The movie 'Ghost' is showing on tv now! It's one of my favourite movies of all time!)

Met up with a few friends I haven't met in awhile. We really wanted to have crepes at Le Triskel (32 Hardware Lane) but it was fully packed with people! So we visited Max Cafe Bar & Restaurant (56-58 Hardware Lane) instead. It's a great place for big groups as they have heaps of seating. Although their food was average, their portions were large. Service was good, and our food came out real fast even though it was packed with people!

I love meeting up with friends for a simple meal or ~~coffee~~ tea.

It makes me happy to see them doing well :)

Made a few changes to my blog layout today!

This is a screenshot of what it used to look like.

Changes made:

1. Centralised the blog title and date.

2. Changed the profile photo.

3. Added a profile, blog list, and archive widget in the sidebar.

4. Changed the blog post separator/divider as it doesn't show up when viewed on a mobile.
5. Centralised the post footer.
